Dream: Vána, Goddess of Confections (A Tolkien Inspired Dream).

Image
What began as a dream about the Incredible Hulk became a dream about a young goddess named Vána (a Tolkien Valier).   In this dream she is a goddess of plentiful food and confectionery. The dream begins with David Banner in the process of transforming into the Hulk.   At the same time, I am “editing” the story.   I decide Banner is changing too soon in the story.   He should be rescuing a damsel in distress while trying to avoid a gang of thugs.   Banner finds the damsel trapped in a bedroom on the top floor of a suburban house.   He frees her, but as they go down the steps, the thugs jump them.   They restrain Banner while they run off with the damsel, this triggers Banner’s transformation into the Hulk.   He thrashes the thugs restraining him and he chases down the fleeing car holding the damsel.   Banner pulls the damsel free from the car and carries her off. That evening, they are in bed together.   They did not have sex.   Bann...

Patton Oswalt, Montclair, Husband and Wife!

When Suze and I first came to the Wellmont Theater at Montclair, NJ in 2018, it was to see industrial legends Ministry.  We were far to the left of the audience seats and well into the back, but we could still make out "Uncle Al" Jourgenson.  The man had so many piercings he looked like a Cenobite from the Hellraiser films.  We managed to get a lift from our longtime buddies Dom Manfredi and Kate Dervin.  While the ladies were on their best behavior, Dom and I had regressed into two eight year olds kicking each other in the ass and laughing as we drove and then walked to the Wellmont. Fast forward to May of 2022.  Suze and I hopped five trains and walked a mile to get to the MC Hotel in Montclair.  I grumbled that we would never do that again, as I have an irrational hatred of the NYC subway and NJ Transit (Well, maybe not totally irrational).  That weekend's attraction was The Alan Parsons Project, who are way on the opposite side of the genre...

So... More Wonders from my Dreamscape.

I find myself in familiar yet not so familiar surroundings.  I'm back in my home borough of the Bronx just across from Manhattan.  I descend into a subway for a train marked with a black letter in a yellow circle.  Anyone from the Bronx knows there are no lines in the Bronx signified with a black letter in a yellow circle.  The 2 line is a white number in a red circle, while the 4, 5, and 6 lines are white numbers in green circles. Where in the Bronx is this leading me? I descend into the station anyway and I board the train to which, according to my internal compass, is headed back into Manhattan.  However, when I exit from a station I arbitrarily decided to leave, I find myself in Hastings-on-Hudson, a town just north of Yonkers.  I'm at Warburton Avenue and Main Street, and the buildings look slightly different.  They're glass and steel instead of brick and mortar.  They are only two to five stories high.  The local record store is moving ...
