Happy Blog-iversary!

It's been one year and seven days since my first blog involving a carpet and the long, winding history behind its design.

Since then I've written about film, music, art, television, musicals, anime, cyborgs, artificial intelligence, quitting writing, resuming writing, meditation, contemplation, cogitation, good, evil, post-it notes...

Oh, and Boba Fett.  I can't forget Boba Fett.

You may have also checked out my other blog page, The Inanna-verse, which deals with everything involving my scripts, art, comedy, and YouTube videos dedicated to the Sumerian goddess.  I don't worship her.  I swear.  I don't worship anyone or anything.  Except perhaps my own overblown ego.

I've even had my wife Susan write a few guest blogs.  There was one about the one season Cop Rock series and another about David Byrne's American Utopia on Broadway.  The last one had the most feedback on this page.

Needless to say, I'm jealous of my wife.

Oh, there is another anniversary I should celebrate:  December 16th.  It marks the thirty fifth anniversary of my first rock concert.  December 16th, 1987.  The band was Yes.  The venue was the Brendan Byrne Arena in New Jersey.  I wrote a whole blog about that.  I've seen Yes recently at the Westbury Theater in Westbury, Long Island.  I was going to write about that show, but I wanted to accompany it with some photos.  Alas, I made the stupid mistake of not bringing my smartphone.  Not very smart.

My father died this month eleven years ago.  I don't remember the exact date.  Which is probably for the best, so I have one less vulnerable spot for ID theft.

Right?

December 25th will mark the 22nd birthday of these little critters.  We named the brown bear Kahlua.  The cream colored one we named Cream.  We think they look like miniature ursine versions of ourselves.  We love these Ursine Americans as though they were alive and as if they were our own children.

I know you're laughing.  Stop laughing!  Stop laughing at our children!

What are my plans for my blog for the future?  Whatever tickles my fancy!  My hope is that more people will check out my blog and more comments will be dropped in the comment threads.  Whether you think my blogs are literary marvels or a heap of shite is up to you, but feedback would be most appreciated.  I'm begging you.  My ego is frail.

This blog has been my main outlet for battling ennui and sometimes flat out depression.  It has encouraged me to pursue more writing projects with professional aspirations in mind.  For that, I'd also like to thank my local library for giving me the right atmosphere to bang out the latest example of Great American Cinema!

My ego is as swollen as it is frail.

So for those who have been reading Sloth, Maybe...? and The Inanna-verse, thanks for dropping in.  I hope to hear from more of you.

My swollen, fragile ego demands it.

Happy Holidays to one and all!

  1. Very nice, very nice indeed! By the way, I have one photo of the round stage in Westbury if you’d like to use that.
